  • After a quiet 2024 for the S&CI region with a pleasant, if small, laying up supper at
Hornet Services Sailing Club, I am working on a decent programme for this year.

Our first honour is to accompany our Commodore, Steve White and his wife Barbara
onboard Wight Mistress with the Skellon family embarked for the spread the ashes of
the late David Skellon upon the waters in the proximity of Hamble Point. This is arranged for Friday 21 February.

As you know, David was the man behind Fairways Marine, who manufactured many of the Fishers still in service, including Wight Mistress Steve and Barbara would be delighted if any of our Fishers are on the water and would like to be in company on 21 February for the spreading of the ashes, and the Skellon Family would would be equally delighted should any of you wish to attend the memorial service at St Andrew the Apostle at 1400, followed by a reception at 1500 at the Royal Southern Yacht Club, both at Hamble. Come by boat or car.

We are kicking off the season with a Back on the Water Lunch on Saturday 22 March 2025 at Harpers
    Steakhouse, Swanwick, Hampshire.

Please will you let me know by email soonest if you would like to attend the lunch and how many in
    your party?
This gives us just under 11 weeks notice so you can hopefully plan to attend and fix it in your diaries.
