• Fisher 34 Ketch 1979 “Speyfisher” 

  Ouistreham to end of October 2023 then South coast UK 

  I purchased Speyfisher in 2016 but for various personal reasons, she has spent most of time since then on the hard and has sailed a total of no more than 10NM in my ownership. Small Boat registered. Built in 1979 (hull number 065) she spent her early years in Harwich. The original owner was the FOA secretary for many years. She was located in Holyhead during my ownership until 2022, and then transhipped by road to Ouistreham (Caen) where she is now in the marina. Unfortunately, my personal circumstances are such that there is no longer any reasonable prospect of my being able to sail Speyfisher in any meaningful way and I am therefore looking to find a new owner for her.

  The survey conducted for me when I bought the boat concluded that

  Speyfisher is a solid vessel and is in good structural condition. Most of the Advisory repairs are of general maintenance and if these together with the Recommendations are carried out, she will provide many years good service given normal maintenance and prudent handling

  The advisories and recommendations were addressed immediately after purchase and since then she has had many thousands of pounds spent on her as can be seen from the description below. She has received  as much TLC as I was able to give her, but in this respect, there remains some more to do in terms of general refurbishment and updating of the furnishings and accommodation.

  Speyfisher is currently available to view in the Port de Plaisance, Ouistreham by arrangement. By the end of October she will have been moved to a South coast UK location. Until then, I will be happy to meet any prospective purchaser off the ferry from Portsmouth, show them the boat and return them to the ferry if that would be helpful and will refund the ticket price for anyone who buys her!

  Mooring fees at Ouistreham are paid until the end of the year and the new owner is welcome to use the berth until then. Speyfisher will, however, have to be taken very briefly out of French territorial waters before the end of October in order to re-start the temporary importation process, as otherwise she might become liable to French VAT.

  Speyfisher is priced at £64,995 to include everything in the detailed specification except for the RIB and outboards. Items in the “Not yet fitted to Speyfisher” section of the specification may be removed from sale if they are not wanted and the price adjusted accordingly.  I am happy to offer a generous negotiation on the sale price, if the sale can be completed before the end of October
